Abstract
Heterotopic pancreas is an aberrant rest of well-developed normally organized pancreatic tissue that lacks anatomic and vascular continuity of the main body of pancreas.
About 80% of heterotopic pancreatic lesions found in the stomach are located in pylorus or in the antrum within 5-6cm from pylorus. Although heterotopic pancreas is noted most often as an incidental findings at autopsy and during surgery for
other
condition, it is capable of producing symptoms depending on the site of lesions and may reflect the whole range of pathology affecting pancreatic tissue.
We have recently experienced a case of heterotopic pancreas on the pylorus, anterior wall in the body. Excision was done and he was discharged with well-being state.
